The Rio Grande Chapter of the American Recorder Society:
Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX

The Rio Grande Recorders are a  group of music enthusiasts in the Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX areas, who get together twice a month to play a wide variety of music. Chapter meetings are the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month at Good Samaritan Village in Las Cruces—entrance on Buena Vida—from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.

In addition there are informal groups in Las Cruces and El Paso.  For more information see our Meetings page.

We are a chapter of the American Recorder Society .  We play music from the renaissance and baroque periods, as well as a variety of other music.

Chapter activities include:
  • Semi-monthly meetings/rehearsals, where we play music including rennaissance, baroque, and a variety of other types of music.
  • Concerts, performances several times per year.

Please see our About Us page if you would like performances for your event.

  •
  • Bi-annual week-end early music workshop for recorders and violas de gamba, featuring classes from professional, nationally-known musicians.   The next workshop will be in the fall of 2011.
